I don't mind leaving in blasters, just give them some dispersion, and make them less usefully against vehicles, so that if you pull out a tank to kill infantry, you should be at a disadvantage if you come up against any AV vehicle turret. I am simply of the opinion that the blast facilitates an Anti Infantry power too great for what it is.
A 205 round magazine means I can effectively drop +10 people before having to reload.
Whereas a plasma canon with12-15 rounds per magazine essentially firing 10 blaster rounds in one shot, would facilitate a large vehicle turret that actually functions like a tank turret while retaining its anti infantry role, but simply requiring a little more aim to successfully make kills.

Simply because the Plasma turret has CQC capacity does not mean I should or would override the role of another CQC AV turret.
As the Missile Turret is only truly effective vs armour, the Plasma turret would be more balanced against shields and armour. It also could have interesting mechanics like arcing projectiles letting skilled users arc shots.

Its not that good vs Infantry......however damage mods + Splash makes hitting infantry very easy. But at least it requires some semblance of skill to snipe an infantry man as opposed to unloading 30+ rounds down range for that 1 kill.
